Training ‘missionettes,’ graduating through adversity, supporting redemption through prison reentry, and Hurricane Beryl disaster relief

Through a partnership with World Missionary Press, Harrell Family Missions in Honduras is training young women (‘missionettes’) to share the Gospel door-to-door. Earlier this year, a group of 180 women and girls handed out 800 WMP Scripture booklets to about 200 families throughout four villages of Villanueva Cortes Honduras. They also distributed food and clothing. WMP has 1 star and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 75.
Ukrainian Bible Institute recently graduated a class of five students, all of whom overcame great odds to complete the ministry program, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued through war with Russia and frequent blackouts. The institute celebrated the graduates with a three-day retreat in Irpin, Ukraine.
Since 2001, Dallas Leadership Foundation has provided prisoners in Hutchins State Jail with the opportunity for a second chance through its prison reentry program. In 2023, the program worked with 1,100 men, offering trade school admission, transitional housing, assistance with clothing, food, and medical care, and support to live substance free. The program boasts a recidivism rate of 4.9%. Dallas Leadership Foundation has 4 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 85.
Samaritan’s Purse deployed a disaster relief unit to Southeast Texas after Hurricane Beryl inundated communities with severe weather that toppled trees, damaged houses, and killed at least 13 people. Volunteers will help clear debris, cut downed trees, and tarp roofs. Samaritan’s Purse is also working across three island nations in the Caribbean ravaged by the storm. Samaritan’s Purse has 2 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 56.
